It is the longest continuous rail line on earth stretching for over one third of the globe. A great part of such a trip is simply sitting back and watching the land go by. | Day 1 | Arrival to Moscow. Transfer from the airport to the hotel, accommodation. Free time. |
| Day 2 | Breakfast. Sightseeing tour round the most beautiful places of Moscow - includes the Red Square, Russian White House, the Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Victory Park with its fountains, Triumph Ark, Moscow State University located on Vorobyevi Hills - the highest point of the city, the Tverskaya street the most animated and saucy, the former headquarters of the KGB. Excursion to the Moscow Kremlin and Kremlin Cathedrals - the historical center of Moscow. The Kremlin has always been perceived as a symbol of power and might of the Russian land. Each era of the Russian history left its architectural mark on the Kremlin. Within the Kremlin walls there are many architectural monuments, churches, cathedrals, museums, etc. Transfer to the railway station. Departure to Ekaterinburg. |
| Day 3 | Day in the train - you'll spend the day in the train moving along the central part of Russia. Arrival to Ekaterinburg in the late evening. - the first major stop in Asian Russia. The city was founded in 1721 by Catherine the Great as a fort and a metallurgical factory. Its position has been chosen for the strategic proximity to the great mining operations of the Urals and Siberia. Ekaterinburg is also notable for being the hometown of Boris Eltsin. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. Dinner at the hotel restaurant. |
| Day 4 | Breakfast. Ekaterinburg city tour - you'll drive along the old streets which were built during the "Golden Age" by the Ekaterinburg's merchants. You'll also visit the monument of the founders of the city, Lenin's square, the Christian temple, the place of execution of the last Russia tzar Nicolas II and his family as well as St. Elizaveta Chapel. Lunch at the local restaurant. Visit to Rissian-Asian boundary. Transfer to the railway station. Departure to Novosibirsk. |
| Day 5 | Arrival to Novosibirsk in the late evening - the largest Siberian city in terms of both population and territory. It is located right in the middle of Russia, on the banks of the beautiful river Ob. The main feature of Novosibirsk is its virgin nature: ancient Salairsky mountain-ridge, Baraba plains and Kulunda steppe, taiga and sunny birch groves, thousands of rivers and huge lakes! | Day 6 | 09:00 Breakfast. 10:00 – 15:00 5-hours Novosibirsk city tour: 10:30 – 11:30 A motorship excursion on the Ob river. - The appearance of Novosibirsk is connected mainly with the construction of Trans-Siberian Railway and the railway bridge over the Ob River at the end of the 19th century. So, in 1893 a small settlement for builders was founded at the bridge which was being constructed across the most extensive river of Russia, Ob river. 12:00 – 13:00 you will have a chance to see all main attractions of Novosibirsk including famous Opera and Ballet House; St. Nicholas Chape lwhich is the geographical center of Russia; and colourful Siberian market. 13:00 – 14:00 Lunch at the Siberian tavern. 14:00 – 14:45 Visiting a shop of "Siberian souvenirs". 15:00 – back to the hotel. | Day 7 | 09:00 Breakfast. 10:00 – 22:00 – 10-hours excursion: Trip to Akademgorodok - the town of scientists. Novosibirsk State University, the House of Scientists, lots of research institutes and academies are located there. Here you will also visit Geology Museum and Museum of ancient trains in the open air. 10:00 – 11:00 – way to Academgorodok, about 30 km from Novosbirsk 11:00 – 12:00 – excursion in Train Museum 12:00 – 13:00 – excursion in Geology Museum 13:00 – 14:00 – lunch in the Restaurant in Academgorodok 14:00 – 15:00 – back way to Novosibirsk 15:00 – 18:00 – excursion in Novosibirsk Zoo 18:00 – 20:00 – dinner in the local restaurant 20:00 – 22:00 – walking in the city, transfer to the train station 22:00 - Departure to Irkutsk |

| Day 9 | Arrival to Irkutsk - the center of Eastern Siberia, situated on the shore of Lake Baikal. Irkutsk is a treasure house of the spiritual culture of Siberia. In it probably the only Siberian city where the old wooden constructions built without a single nail and decorated with skillful carving harmonize with splendid stone edifices of Siberian architecture. Tranfer to the hotel. Accommodation at 12.00. Breakfast at the hotel. Irkutsk city tour. There are about 700 monuments of history and culture in Irkutsk. The most interesting for the guests are the historical ensembles in its central part: Spasskaya Church, the Epiphany Cathedral, the Roman Catholic Church, the monument of the Siberian explorers, the Drama Theatre and etc. Lunch at the local restaurant. Excursion to the museum of Decembrists. The exposition illustrates the life of the Decembrists in the exile in East Siberia in 1826-1856. The museum contains real things that belonged to the Trubetskoy family like furniture, embroideries made by the Princess E. I. Trubetskaya, and her daughter's paintings. Return to the hotel. Free time. |
| Day 10 | Breakfast. Travel to Lake Baikal - the Gem of Siberia with beautiful and unforgettable surroundings. En route you will see the Wooden Architecture Museum in the open air, a unique collection of historical, architectural and ethnographical monuments of the 17-18th centuries. Lunch at the local restaurant - tasting fish dishes of Baikal Lake. Excursion to Museum of Baikal Lake - the unique exhibits tell about the origin and the history of the lake, its flora and fauna, geological structure, and climate and tectonics of Prebaikalye. One hour motorboat trip on Baikal Lake. You will be astonished by the color metamorphoses of the lake's surface, the ever-changing play of water and sky, taiga, and cliffs. Walking tour to the village "Krestovka". Legend has it that Russian merchant Serebriakov was caught in a storm out on the lake and prayed to St. Nicholas (Protector of Navigators) for help. His prayers were answered and on his safe return he began to build a church to thank the saint (in 1846). Unfinished when he died, the church was completed by the merchant's wife. Located in Listvyanka village, the residents attend service held in the church up to now. Transfer to Irkutsk. Departure to Ulan-Ude. The train will carry you along the Baikal and Maritime regions. |
| Day 11 | Arrival to Ulan-Ude. Like most Siberian cities, Ulan-Ude was founded during the 17th century. However, as the center of the Buddhist Buryat culture, it is unlike any of the other stops along the Trans-Siberian railway because of its architecture, history and city atmosphere. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation Breakfast Ulan-Ude city tour - during this tour you will see the historical center of Ulan-Ude located along the river banks like a fancy amphitheater with its 1 and 2-storied houses that belonged to merchants of the 18-19th centuries, the main square with the most extravagant Lenin's monument, two main cathedrals, the Buryat Opera and Ballet Theatre and other attractions. Lunch at the local restaurant. Tour to Ivolginsky Datsan - a restored Tibetan Buddhist Monastery, located 25 miles from Ulan-Ude. Till 1995 the Datsan was the residence of Bandido Khambo Lama (the leader of the Buddhists in Russia). Now it serves as the center of Buddhism in Russia. Visit to Old-Believer's Village. On this tour you will travel to Bolshoi Kunaley, a village 30 miles from Ulan Ude, where Semeiskiye live in their brightly painted and decorated with ornate carvings log houses. You will see rare icons, the original furniture and domestic utensils, enjoy Russian choral singing just like it sounded in the 17th century. Dinner in the family. Return to the hotel |
