RED SQUARE is a symbol of Russia. Through the ages it changed it’s name many times and only in the 17th century it received it’s present name “Krasnaya”(Red), which in the old Russian language means “Beautiful”. On the Vasilyevsky Slope, opposite the Spassky Gates the unique Cathedral of the Holy Veil (Pokrovsky), more widely known as St. Basil’s Cathedral, stands out in all it’s beauty. In front of the Cathedral stands a monument, the first in the city, devoted to Russia national heroes, Minin and Pozharsky.

CATHEDRAL OF ST. BASIL THE BLESSED erected on the Kremlin's moat under Tsar Ivan the Terrible in commemoration of the capture of the city Kazan. The architecture of the cathedral is unique. It has a symmetric and well-proportioned composition of nine churches-towers, which are raised on one common base. Now the Museum has a unique collection of 16-18th centuries' icons as well as relics of applied art.

THE CHEKIST HALL OF KGB OF THE USSR was opened in 1984. The Hall was created for perfecting professional training of the State Security organs employees in the best traditions of special service organs. From the beginning the number of visitors exceeded 60 thousand people. Among them were leaders and operative staff of the Central body as well as of local organs.

RUSSIAN WHITE HOUSE was main witness to two of the defining moments of post-Soviet history. The first was the August coup of 1991, when Gorbachev was ousted by hardliners and a Yeltsin-led democratic alliance took the White House as their rallying point. In 1993, the White House once again played host to political drama. Yeltsin shelled the leaders of Russia's parliament into submission when they refused his order of dissolution

CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE SAVIOUR is the largest Orthodox church in the world. It is situated in Moscow, on the bank of the Moskva River. When the last of Napoleon's soldiers left Moscow, Tsar Alexander I signed a manifesto declaring his intention to build a Cathedral in honor of Christ the Saviour as a memorial to the sacrifices of the Russian people.

WALKING ALONG ARBAT STREET. Walking along the most famous pedestrian area in Moscow which deservs the title of Moscow Monmartre. A lot of diffrent cafes, antique shops and stands with traditional Russian gifts and souvenirs are situated here. Numerous artisans and painters display their works just in the street.

VOROBYEVI HILLS is a special observation point in Moscow. Ancient document tell us about one deal. In XV century some Russian great princess bought small village in this hills. Seller was some priest and his nick-name was Vorobey (Sparrow). Newly bought property were got to new proprietress under the name of Vorobyevi gori.

MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY was established in 1755. Moscow University has at its disposal more than 600 buildings and facilities including the sky-scraper on Lenin Hills, occupying over 1 million square metres. The University campus in Moscow covers 205.7 hectares.

NOVODEVICHY CONVENT is one of the oldest examples of 16th and 17th century architecture. Evdokiya, Peter the Great’s first wife, and Princess Sophia, his troublesome sister, both spent part of their lives and are buried here. Many outstanding Russian writers, poets, composers and artists are also buried here.

VICTORY PARK contains memorials to two Patriotic Wars: in 1812 and 1941-5. In 1983 the Politburo gave its approval to a design by Nikolai Tomskiy that involved levelling the Poklonnaya gora (Heel of greetings). The park itself is laid out around a grand fountain-lined axis culminating in the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War.

KUTUZOV PROSPECT

TRIUMPHAL ARCH was built 1827-34 and originally stood on Tverskaya avenue. In 1936 during reconstruction of that square it was torn down to facilitate traffic. In 1968 it was rebuilt at its present location in Victory square. The design is based on Roman triumphal arches. The height is 28 meters. On the frieze are heraldric shields of Russian cities.

THE KREMLIN is the nucleus of Moscow and the oldest, most characteristic part of the Russian capital – the site of it’s oldest architectural monuments, and a symbol of old and modern power.

ARMORY CHAMBER on the Kremlin grounds contains a unique collection of Royal jewelry including thrones, crowns. Carriages, costumes, gold and silverware, all lavishly studded with precious stones. It is the most fascinating museum of Russian applied and decorative art, which reflects customs, traditions and manners of the Russian nation.

DIAMOND FUND is the "richest" museum of Russia. Created by Peter I as storehouse of state regalia, medal signs, smart jeweler ornaments it replenished during all board of a dynasty of Romanovs. Nobody can remain indifferent, having seen nuggets of gold and platinum, such as 36-kilogram " The Large triangle " and 14-kilogram the "Head of a horse ".

PUSHKIN MUSEUM OF FINE ARTS contains a fine collection of ancient Egypt; Greece and Rome art are well represented. The Art Gallery has works the most Europe’s greatest painters- Botticelly, Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck and Constable, a vast-selection of French paintings, including works of French impressionists.

HISTORICAL MUSEUM. Emperor Alexander founded the Museum on Red Square in 1872 according to his request. Among the exhibits of the famous permanent exposition " Relics of Russian State History" are exponents of archeology, numismatics, documents, autographs, icons, portraits, engravings, photographs, handwritten and printed books, old amours, clothes, military uniforms.

ARTS AND CRAFTS MUSEUM was established in 1981 became the first Russian museum with the extensive collection of ethnic arts and crafts as well as modern authors' hand-made masterpieces from all over Russia. The Museum exhibits the best works of Russian craftspeople that worked from the 16th to the 20th century.

MUSEUM PANORAMA OF THE BORODINSKAYA BATTLE - the main exposition is devoted to events of the Patriotic War of 1812. The panorama of the famous Battle of Borodino created in honor of its 100th anniversary is exhibited in the main round hall. It is 115 m long and 15 m high. There are collections of numismatics, personal belongings of the War parictipants.

RUSSIAN AIR FORCE MUSEUM IN MONINO is located approximately 38 km from Moscow in a lovely wooded area.It is the largest and best aviation museum in Russia. It was created on the basis of the Gagarin Air Force Academy.The aviation park consists of more than 170 aircraft from the beginning of the century to modern war machines, cargo, sport, and also civilian planes and helicopters.

KUSKOVO estate built for the richest Russian landowner Count Sheremetyev in the 18th century preserved its original aspect up to the present day.

The Ancient Estate KOLOMENSKOE - was the residence of the Russian princes and tzars. It was first mentioned in the documents dating from the 14th century.

DONSKOY MONASTERY is a major male monastery in Moscow, founded in 1591 in commemoration of Moscow's deliverance from an imminent threat of Khan Kazy-Girey’s invasion. Commanding a highway to the Crimea, the monastery was intended to defend southern approaches to the Moscow Kremlin.
